Seaton is located between the ancient harbour of Axmouth and the white cliffs of Beer. Its mile long beach, part of the Jurassic Coast, opens onto the waters of Lyme Bay. The town itself has many small shops, a local hospital, doctors' surgeries, primary school, bank and building society. Seaton is a popular resort for holiday makers, and boasts a wealth of activities including golf, tennis, bowls and sailing. There are good secondary schools nearby along with the renowned Colyton Grammar School, which is just 3 miles inland. The County town of Exeter, with its regional airport, is some twenty miles to the west, and the mainline rail link to London (Waterloo) is at Axminster, approximately seven miles distant. An attractive and popular East Devon seaside resort with a good size resident population which is increasing rapidly with many new developments planned and currently under construction. The town attracts many tourists and day visitors throughout the year and is located on the world famous Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A new Jurassic Coast visitor centre has opened which will further boost visitor numbers. There is the unique Electric Tram Railway which operates from its Terminus nearby travelling through the Axe valley bird sanctuary and wetlands to the historic inland town of Colyton. The famous Beer Caves and Pecorama railway and visitor centre are close by in the fishing village of Beer.
From the seafront roundabout, take Castle Hill. On reaching Seafield Road, continue straight on and follow the road around, continuing along Beer Road. Turn left into Old Beer Road and then right into Highcliffe Close. Continue up Highcliffe Close and Bay View will be found on the right hand side.
Bay View is a substantial detached bungalow which occupies an elevated location on the West side of the town. It enjoys fabulous far reaching sea and coastal views looking towards Portland Bill in the distance. The property was purchased in 2014 by the current vendor and in 2015/2016 a sizeable extension was built to one side. The accommodation is extremely flexible and adaptable. The extension can either provide an annexe with it's own door access making it highly suitable for a dependent relative or letting for additional income. It could equally be used for addition bedrooms for a large family providing five bedrooms in total. In the main part of the bungalow there is a lovely large open plan living room with large windows at the end of the room which takes full advantage of the lovely sea views. A door from this room leads to a hallway with access to the annexe extension. This area has two bedrooms and a bathroom along with a room which could be used as a lounge for an annexe or all these rooms could be additional bedrooms for a larger family creating five bedrooms in total. As the annexe lounge is next to the bathroom it has access to water etc should someone require a kitchenette to be added. There is a further lounge with double doors opening to a sun room which is currently used as a dining room which again enjoys the lovely views. The kitchen is well fitted with a matching range of units with gas hob and electric built-in oven with a window to the rear overlooking the gardens and a utility room leads off here with further units and door to rear. There are two further double bedrooms both of which are en-suite. There is full double glazed windows and gas central heating throughout. Bay View truly needs to be viewed internally to fully appreciate the size and the views enjoyed from within.
There is ample parking for four vehicles on a block paved driveway in front of the bungalow. The front garden is mainly laid to lawn with a pathway leading to a pedestrian gate leading to one side of the bungalow to the rear garden. The rear mature gardens are of a very good size. There is a pathway surrounding the rear of the bungalow and a patio in front of the annexe lounge along with a water tap and power point. The garden is mainly lawn with flower and shrub borders and a number of trees including an apple. The boundaries are mature and therefore the rear garden is not overlooked. There is a summerhouse in the corner of the garden and from here a view can be enjoyed towards the sea in the distance.
