This delightful property was bought by the current owners approximately 11.5 years ago and has since that time been updated altered and improved throughout. Situated in an elevated position on the western side of town this substantial detached house enjoys fantastic sea and coastal views and is within walking distance of the town and seafront. The flexible accommodation includes six bedrooms and three reception rooms with the majority enjoying lovely sea views. The property was built, we understand, in the 1920’s and as such has many interesting features associated with this period with a number of bay windows including a very interesting hexagonal bay window which takes full advantage of the fantastic sea and coastal views, deep skirting boards and picture rails. There is full gas central heating and double glazing throughout. This unique property needs to be viewed internally to fully appreciate the size and the views enjoyed from within.
The front door opens directly into a particularly spacious reception hall with stairs rising to the first floor. The main reception sitting room has a hexagonal bay with lovely views and sliding bi-fold doors which accesses the front gardens and a feature fireplace with gas fire inset. A door opens to the formal dining room with Bay window to front. To the side and rear of the property is a large family room with doors leading out to the side patio area and a large arch through to the kitchen. The kitchen is comprehensively fitted and has a door through to lobby area leading to a separate utility room. From the reception entrance hall doors lead off to bedrooms 5 and 6 along with a store room (which could be altered to a dressing room or en-suite) and ground floor bathroom. These ground floor bedrooms are flexible and could be used as bedrooms or alternatively used as a play room or study/office.
On the first floor the Master Bedroom has the hexagonal bay window which enjoys even better views from this height over the town towards the countryside, coastline and sea. Bedroom 2 has an en-suite shower room and WC. There are 2 further bedrooms on the first floor and a separate family shower room and WC. There is also a large airing/laundry cupboard accessed from the landing.
Twin timber gates open to a driveway which provides ample parking for several cars. A few steps lead to the front door. The front garden has a wall to two sides and fencing surrounding the garden which is mainly laid to lawn with some trees and mature shrubs and flowers. There is a raised deck area which along with the garden can be access from the sitting room. This south facing garden and deck enjoys the sun for most of the day along with the lovely sea views. The gardens wrap around the property with the side garden being an easy to maintain paved area with large patio and stone borders surrounded by mature shrubs and plant trees. A pathway continues to the rear of the property with further patio area with raised flower and shrub borders. From here access is gained to a store room to the rear of the garage. This path then continues to the side of the property to the front entrance drive.
