Yorkshire property owners issued insurance warning

People with luxury homes in Yorkshire, as well as those who own
typical houses, have been issued a warning concerning
insurance.
According to new figures from Yorkshire Bank, around one-in-four
consumers residing in the county do not have contents cover for
their possessions.
In addition, a third have not got buildings insurance, the firm
claimed.
Because of this, around 500,000 households face potentially footing
the cost of a break-in, which could be expensive.
Responding to the findings, head of retail at Yorkshire Bank Steve
Fletcher said: "Adequate home contents insurance can't stop the
crime from happening but it can ease the burden should the worst
happen."
He added that security measures are not sufficient to deter thieves
in all cases, meaning it is crucial to have cover in place.
Meanwhile, statistics produced by Clydesdale Bank show that
uninsured victims of burglary across the UK as a whole face a
combined bill of £200 million per year.
