Restored railway 'boosts buy-to-let'

The rental property market has been boosted in one area of Wales as
a result of the reinstatement of a train service.
Ebbw Vale and the town of Newbridge is benefiting from an hourly
service to the Welsh capital Cardiff, estate agents in the area
have said, as workers see a chance to commute, reports the Western
Mail.
Prices are increasing at this location, said Parkmans chartered
surveyor Charlotte Burles, which marks a change from the situation
12 months ago.
She told the paper: "Properties in and around Newbridge don’t
seem to be sticking as they were a year ago, when some properties
were hard to find tenants for."
And the general accessibility of the area as been aided by the
opening of the line, she added, even if it is "early days".
Rettie & Co recently stated that the Scottish buy-to-let market
is in good shape, aided in part by the credit crunch, which has
forced more people to rent.
